Institute of Geography of NAS of Ukraine
Institute of Geography of NAS of Ukraine was established by the founding in 1964 the Sector of Geography under the Institute of Geology Sciences of Academy of Sciences of Ukrainian SSR.
In 1991 establishment gained the status of Institute.
Main Astronomical Observatory of NAS of Ukraine
The Main Astronomical Observatory (MAO) of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was founded on July 17, 1944 on the initiative of the well-known astronomer and geophysicist O.Ya. Orlov (1880—1954), Member of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Iнститут географії НАН України
Iнститут географії НАН України започатковано створенням у 1964 році Сектору географії при Інституті геологічних наук Академії наук УРСР.
У 1970 році його перетворено на Відділення географії Інституту геофізики АН УРСР.
Статус Інституту установа одержала в 1991 році.
