From 23rd till 25th of April 2008 on the base of National Technical University of Ukraine «Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» the international Russian-Ukrainian Seminar of the World Data Centers «Formation of Global Geoinformatic Area for Urgent Questions of Earth Study» took place.

During the seminar the different questions were discussed among which were the analysis of World Data Center’s Ukrainian department achievements (the cooperation with scientific organizations — International Council for Science, departments of National Academy of Science (NAS) and Russian Academy of Science (RAS); data accumulation as the result of partner’s cooperation) and innovative range of joint projects.

According to the results of the work participants came to the conclusion that the first stage of certification was successfully passed, and it’s recommended to pass the second stage of certification during the CODATA-2008 conference, which will be held in Kyiv from 5th till 8th of October 2008.
