Strengthening cooperation with Canada


April 14, 2014 the Rector of the University of Winnipeg Bill Balan visited National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute". He met with the University leaders and participated in the discussion of the prospects for large-scale cooperation and scientific exchange between NTUU "KPI", Ukrainian Catholic University, International University of Finance and the University of Winnipeg.

The meeting was attended by the Rector of NTUU "KPI" Michael Zgurovsky, Vice Rector of NTUU "KPI" on International Relations Sergiy Sydorenko, Vice Rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University and Chair of the Kyiv School of Economics Supervisory Board George Logush, scientific secretary of NTUU "KPI" Anatoliy Melnychenko, Partnership Development Manager of the Canadian Bureau for International Education Serhij Kotenko, Director of the World data Center for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development (WDC - Ukraine) Kostiantyn Yefremov, General Director of the Science Park "Kyivska Polytechnika" Andriy Shysholin and Intellectual Property Director of Science Park "Kyivska Polytechnika" Yaroslav Kologryvov, the Head Laboratory for monitoring of environmental sustainability at WDC-Ukraine and the Department of Cybernetics of Chemical Technology Processes Irina Dzhygyrey and others.

The meeting was held in a friendly, business-like atmosphere and the parties have agreed on mutual cooperation for the exchange of experiences, methodologies and knowledge. In particular, after the presentation on WDC-Ukraine developments in the field of quantitative evaluation of sustainable development performed by Director Kostiantyn Yefremov, Bill Balan and George Logush expressed interest in the implementation of a joint project on analysis of regional development for the adoption of reasonable administrative and management decisions.
