Main areas of activity

   Scientific and Methodological Support for University Academic Programs:      

 

  • Scientific and methodological support for the group of general university disciplines on sustainable development issues ("Fundamentals of Engineering and Technology for Sustainable Development," "Sustainable Innovation Development," "Inclusive Green Growth," "Foundations of Sustainable Development").
  • Methodological and methodological support for educational programs such as "Systems Analysis and Management," "Financial Market Systems Analysis," "Artificial Intelligence Systems and Methods," "Economic Analytics," "Social Data Analytics," and "Intelligent Service-Oriented Distributed Computing."
  • Teaching by the Center's specialists of academic disciplines and providing practical training bases for students from Faculty of Informatics and Computer Engineering, ES Institute for Applied System Analysis, Faculty of Management and Marketing, ES Institute of Atomic and Thermal Energy, Faculty of Sociology and Law, and Institute of Physics and Tecnology in areas such as modeling, data analysis, artificial intelligence, information systems, data warehousing, an  d GIS.
  • Technical support for academic disciplines related to the processing and analysis of large data sets, distributed computing, and cloud technologies.
  • Organization and execution of student projects on big data analysis, modeling of complex socio-economic systems, etc.
  • Conducting professional development courses in areas such as "Geomatics," "Intelligent Data Analysis," "Cybersecurity and Information Protection" (more than ten training courses).

Infrastructure Support for Educational and Research Projects:

  • Development and maintenance of a software-hardware complex for a situation center to conduct real-time modeling.
  • Ensuring the operation of the high-performance cluster of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute for solving computational tasks in educational and scientific contexts.
  • Providing data for the qualification works of students from ES Institute for Applied System Analysis, Faculty of Management and Marketing and Faculty of Sociology and Law, as well as for fundamental and applied research.
  • Supporting the work of expert groups and scientific laboratories in various areas, including the study of economic and social processes in Ukraine, environmental status research, development, and use of geographic information systems, and the development of mathematical methods for data analysis.
  • Supporting the technical platform for hosting general university and specialized educational and administrative resources.

Competence Center for Sustainable Development:

  • Providing access to global information resources from the International Science Council and the World Data System for the Ukrainian scientific community.
  • Collecting and storing global data necessary for research in sustainable development and national scientific data (according to the agreed list of disciplines with WDS) and representing them to the international community.
  • Representing Ukraine in ISC World Data System, CODATA, Research Data Alliance (RDA), Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN), International Political Science Association (IPSA), and others.

Implementation of State and International Scientific Projects:

  • Researching the behavior of complex socio-economic systems.
    • Analyzing processes and assessing the state of sustainable development in countries and regions at various levels.
    • Building hierarchical models to assess the system's state concerning a given problem or concept.
    • Predicting and scenario modeling of socio-economic systems development.
  • Developing methods for intelligent data analysis.
  • Developing methods for spatial data analysis, creating geographic information systems, and analyzing satellite data.
  • Developing and implementing information technologies, and realizing software and technical complexes to solve large-scale tasks of collecting, exchanging, processing, and analyzing interdisciplinary data.
