The rector of Igor Sikorsky KPI Mykhailo Zgurovsky, Director of World Data Center for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development Kostiantyn Yefremov and Chairman of the Council on Environmental Safety Serhiy Orekhov signed a memorandum of cooperation on November 22 (2018) in order to ensure continuous effective cooperation. On February 06 round table "Modeling the development of society in the context of quality and safety of life of people" was held within the framework of this memorandum.

The National nomination committee of Ukraine for the Nobel Sustainability Trust was created on the basis of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. This, as well as it's tasks, was discussed at the first meeting that took place in the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on April 23, 2018. The meeting was hosted by academician Boris Paton, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

On June 27, 2017, in ESC «World Data Center for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development» release «Spatial Modeling and Applications for SDI» course of postgraduate students from state authorities was issued, which was delivered within the framework of the Canadian-Ukrainian educational project "Laying the Foundation for a Spatial Data Infrastructure: Building Capacity within the Ukrainian Government to Support Sustainable Economic Growth", which is being implemented in Ukraine with the support of Vancouver Island University and its Ukrainian partners.

Tonight, at 23.30 on May 26, a team from Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute established connection and began setting up individual subsystems NANOSATELLITE PolyITAN-2. He came to his own orbit of the International Space Station (ISS), where he was sent from Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA, delivered missile ATLAS-5.

In April, 18 at 11.11 local time carrier rocket of American consortium United Launch Alliance «Atlas V» was launched from cosmodrome on Cape Canaveral (USA) with transport ship "Cygnus". It's mission is to deliver 7600 pounds of live load to International space station.
