Iryna Vereshchuk, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, visited WDC-Uktaine

On December 2, 2021, Iryna Vereshchuk, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, visited the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".

The meeting began with an acquaintance with the Situation Center of the World Data Center for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development (WDC-Ukraine). WDC-Ukraine scientists proposed ways to solve the problems that are of great concern to Ministry for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine. Experts presented the results of the analytical work of the Situation Center, the developments of WDC-Ukraine, which may be the basis for cooperation with the state enterprise "Ukrainian National Center for Peacebuilding", established by the Ministry of Reintegration in June 2021. These researches include monitoring and analyzing of critical changes of environmental-economical state of temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine based on satellite data, tools for information intelligence based on open data, methodological and mathematical apparatus and integrated online platform "Advanced Analytics" for scenario modelling, collaborative development of management decisions and assessment of the consequences of their adoption, etc.

During the meeting, issues of water supply in the Donbas regions and the development of joint educational projects, including support for the educational program "Conflict Resolution and Mediation", also were discussed.

Key issues of the meeting of the Ministry of Reintegration and Igor Sikorsky KPI are set out in the Memorandum of Partnership and Cooperation in Education and Science, signed by the parties.
