Under the project “Laying the Foundation for a Spatial Data Infrastructure: Building Capacity within the Ukrainian Government to Support Sustainable Economic Growth” Professor Dave Cake from Vancouver Island University (Canada) paid a visit to the World Data Center for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development.

At the working meeting of project participants and representatives of the World Data Centre and the Department for International Cooperation of the National Technical University “KPI”, held on September 2, 2014, the main objectives of assistance in terms of the project and further ways of cooperation have been discussed. Professor Dave Cake spoke on the project achievements, peculiarities of the development and adaptation of two courses in the field of GIS which will be launched in 2014. A visit of Professor Dave Cake was devoted to the introductory meeting of participants of the first group of listeners, who work at state organisations related to the advance of Ukrainian national geospatial data infrastructure.
