On the 26th of December in 2008 in Moscow (Russian Federation) a conference of WDC directors took place. During the conference an Agreement about partnership, cooperation and scientific exchange was made between Geophysical Center of Russian Academy of Sciences (GC RAS) Moscow, Russian Federation (RF), All-Russian Research Institute of Hydro Meteorological Information of World Data Center (RIHMI-WDC) Obninsk, RF and Educational Scientific Complex “Institute for Applied System Analysis” (ESC IASA) (Kyiv, Ukraine) that united five of Russian WDCs and one WDC Ukraine in a regional cluster to a World Data System. The Council of Russian-Ukrainian segment of WDC was also chosen.
