The results of the research were presented at a meeting of a special commission of the Verkhovna Rada (the Parlament) of Ukraine on July 14, 2015. The research was performed by the World Data Center for Geoinformatics and Sustainable of the International Council for Science (ICSU) at the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" and the Institute for Applied Systems Analysis of MES and NAS of Ukraine.
The Head of the research Prof. M. Zgurovsky described the methodology and the results of the foresight of future economy of Ukraine for mid-term (2015–2020) and long-term (2020–2030) time horizons.
The use of Delphi method allowed to identify the main clusters of new economy of Ukraine, that are regarded as benchmarks for high-tech development of Ukraine in terms of its successful international cooperation.
SWOT-analysis of the main perspective clusters was a base for scenario planning and gave a possibility to build a group of eight scenarios of the future economy of Ukraine. Four of them are for the mid-term time horizon and four - up to 2030. These scenarios can be used by decision makers of the state level, from civil society institutions and international organizations to develop policies and strategies for social-economic development of Ukraine.
More information can be found at the World Data Center website (version for discussion[UA]).
